Team Vinson Charters is a family-run operation rooted in tradition, experience, and a genuine love for the water. Based on Alabama’s Gulf Coast, we offer inshore and nearshore fishing trips, seasonal Snapper runs, and laid-back cruises that make the most of life on the bay.
Led by Captain Donnie Vinson and supported by his wife Anne and daughter Candace, our crew brings a personal touch to every charter. With over 30 years of local fishing knowledge, tournament experience, and a deep respect for the coast, we treat every guest like family - whether you're here to reel in your first catch or relax with a sunset drink in hand.

Captain Donnie Vinson – Your Local Guide to the Gulf Coast
Captain Donnie Vinson was born and raised on Alabama’s Gulf Coast and grew up fishing the waters around Spanish Fort. With more than 30 years of experience, he knows every stretch of the Mobile Delta, the Bay, and the Gulf like the back of his hand - from backwater creeks to deep-sea hotspots.
Donnie’s true passion is sharing the magic of life on the water. Whether it’s chasing Redfish inshore, pulling in Snapper offshore, or enjoying a peaceful sunset cruise, he’s all about creating unforgettable memories for his guests.
He’s a member of the Alabama Coastal Fishing Association (ACFA), certified in CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross, and has competed in numerous tournaments across the Gulf Coast - including the world-renowned Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo.
With a calm, experienced presence and a love for teaching others, Captain Donnie makes every trip feel like a day on the water with an old friend.

Candace Vinson
Deckhand
Candace discovered her love for fishing at just 10 years old and hasn’t slowed down since. Now 16, she’s competed in numerous tournaments over the years - often placing ahead of adults twice her age.
She continues to enjoy every part of being a deckhand and hopes to one day earn her Captain’s license, following in her dad’s footsteps.
Anne Vinson
Crew Support & First Mate
Anne steps in as deckhand when Captain Donnie’s regular crew member isn’t available and also helps with behind-the-scenes work. She enjoys being out on the water and spending time with her husband.
For Anne, any day making memories on the boat and helping guests enjoy their trip is a good one.
