Before You Book

Have questions about your trip? We’ve got you covered. From what to bring to what happens if the weather turns, this section answers the most common questions to help you feel prepared and confident for your day on the water.

What should I bring on my charter?

We provide all the fishing gear, bait, and licenses you need. Just bring drinks, snacks or food, weather-appropriate clothing (like a jacket or rain gear), sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. You’ll also want a cooler in your car for taking home your catch - which we’ll clean and bag for you.

What’s included with the charter?

We provide all the fishing gear, bait, and licenses you need. Just bring drinks, snacks or food, weather-appropriate clothing (like a jacket or rain gear), sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. You’ll also want a cooler in your car for taking home your catch - which we’ll clean and bag for you.

Is alcohol allowed onboard?

Yes, if you're 21 or older, you’re welcome to bring alcoholic beverages. Please drink responsibly - the captain reserves the right to end a trip without refund if safety becomes a concern.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. If the captain determines conditions are unsafe, the trip will be rescheduled or refunded. We’ll always keep you informed and make the call based on real-time weather.

Are kids welcome on board?

Yes! We love fishing with families. Children ages 5–15 are welcome with a parent or guardian. Please let us know in advance so we can prepare age-appropriate gear. Due to safety policies, we can’t accommodate children under 5.

Can I go if I’m pregnant?

Fishing charters are not recommended for pregnant guests. However, sunset cruises are generally more comfortable and may be approved by the captain in advance. Participation is at your own risk.

Do kids pay the same rate?

Yes, the full rate applies to all guests, including children.

Do I need to know how to fish?

No experience needed! Whether you're brand new or seasoned, we tailor each trip to your skill level. We love teaching first-timers and welcome all levels of anglers.

What time do trips start, and where do we meet?

Start times vary by season, tide, and weather - typically around 6 AM. We’ll confirm the exact time and launch location (Gulf Shores or Dauphin Island) a few days before your trip.

Are all charters private?

Yes. Every trip is just for your group.

Where do we fish?

We cover inshore and nearshore waters around Mobile Bay, Dauphin Island, Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores, Bon Secour, Fish River, and more - based on weather, season, and what you want to catch.

What kind of fish might we catch?

Depending on the season: Redfish, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Snapper, Tripletail, Triggerfish, Spanish Mackerel, and more.

What if we don’t catch anything?

Fishing is never guaranteed, but Captain Donnie will do everything he can to put you on the fish. No refunds are issued, but we’re confident you’ll have a great time either way.

How many people can go on a charter?

Fishing trips can accommodate up to 6 anglers. Cruises allow up to 6 guests.

What’s the difference between inshore and nearshore?

Inshore charters fish calm, protected waters like bays and rivers. Nearshore charters head up to 9 miles offshore and can be a bit choppier - and exciting!

Is there a bathroom on the boat?

No. If we’re fishing inshore, we can make quick stops for bathroom breaks if needed.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A $250 deposit is required at booking. You can pay in full or pay the remainder before your trip.

Do you accept credit or debit cards?

Yes. Cards are accepted with a small processing fee.

Is gratuity included?

No. Tips are not included but are always appreciated. Leaving a review or referring a friend is another great way to support us.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 7 days in advance for a full refund. Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable unless we rebook the day. If weather forces a cancellation, we’ll reschedule or issue a refund.

What else can we do while we’re in town?

There’s more to the Alabama Gulf Coast than great fishing. From historic forts and battleships to family-friendly attractions, restaurants, and beach bars - we’re happy to share local recommendations. Whether you’re planning a full vacation or just have a few extra hours to fill, ask us about what to see, do, and eat while you're here.
